The video above is of a dog and a cat teaming up to chase off a raccoon. The raccoon is bigger than the cat and almost as big as the dog, but that doesn’t stop either one of them from chasing the raccoon off the porch. It’s probably a good thing that the owners were there. The raccoon was probably more scared of the people than the dog or cat. Raccoons can be pretty vicious and have been know to kill dogs when cornered.
The video reminded me of a raccoon that decided he was one of my parents cats when I was growing up. He would never let any of us get near him, but he would hang out on the front porch of our house with the other cats we had. Would eat cat food with them and even sleep with them. It was kind of strange. The cats seemed to have completely accepted him. That was the summer we didn’t have a dog. Once we got a dog again, we never saw him or any other raccoons, but it was kind of weird while he was there.
This has got to be the strangest fight I’ve ever seen. The two giraffes are fighting over a potential mate. But what makes this so strange is the way they fight. They whack their own heads against each others bodies. very strange looking.
When I first saw a picture of this animal I assumed it was a fake. I mean come on! A kangaroo Rabbit Rat? Really looks like something made up. But I did a little looking around, and found that it was a real animal. It’s called a Four-toed Jerboa. It lives in deserts and salt marshes throughout Norther Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Take a look at the video below to see it in action. It actually looks like it would make a great pet. Way better than a hamster.
If you live in a place where squirrels are common, you will understand how hard it is to keep them from snatching any food that is left outside. They are a particular nuisance around bird feeders. Some people have some truly amazing and elaborate systems to try to keep the bird feed safe from squirrels.
This person seems to have gone the opposite route. Rather than try to keep the squirrel from getting to the nuts, he/she put up ever more elaborate obstacles outside of the house and watched the squirrels navigate them. Check out the soccer skills of the elephant in the video. The dropkick he does is really cool. How do you train an elephant to do something like that?Via Nothing To Do With Arbroath: An elephant with great ball skills
Rocky Fiore is an artist who captures spider webs. He captures them and mounts them on glass for display. Some of the webs that he has captured are truly amazing. What caught my eye, was a video he did for Cool Hunting. in the video, he shows how he captures the webs, using only varnish, spray paint, and glass. Check out the video below.

Found this video of a deer jumping over a biker. It’s amazing that no one got hurt. Thought this was interesting enough to post, even though lately I seem to be posting a lot of wildlife videos. There was the tiger leap, the lion buffalo brawl, and the hammock bear. Oh, and I almost forgot the sheep surfing goat.
Here is a cool video of a bear in New Jersey who climbs into a hammock. He seems to be enjoying it quite a bit. Towards the end, he tries to rock it a little too hard and ends up falling out.
The amazing video above shows a tiger leaping 12 feet into the air to attack a forest ranger who was sitting on top of an elephant. It seems that a rogue tiger had been reported in the area, and a team was sent out to deal with it. Tigers being a protected species, they were not planning to kill it.
The tiger was tracked to the field in the video, where an attempt to take it down with a tranquilizer dart was made. The ranger who fired the dart, missed. This so enraged the tiger, that it attacked.
After the attack, the video cuts off, but the rest of the story has the park ranger who was attacked and another park ranger falling off the elephant they were riding. At which point the elephant attacked the tiger in defense of the rangers on the ground. Eventually the tiger was driven off. The ranger who was attacked lost three fingers and had bad lacerations on his arm and side.
