I found these delightful insect art sculptures by Christopher Conte. He makes them using cast off machine parts and medical paraphernalia. They really are interesting. I posted a few of them here, but he has lots more at his site. So check them out.

Motorcycles made from watch parts
January 30th, 2008 — Art, Motorcycle, Sculpture, Watch

Jose Geraldo Reis Pfau, an artist from Brazil, makes these incredible motorcycle sculptures from old watches. Each sculpture is hand crafted from watch parts that Jose has collected over the years. And they really are amazing looking. Too bad they aren’t for sale, or I would think about buying one for my office.

Sculptures made of chewing gum
January 23rd, 2008 — Art, Gum, Maurizio Savini, Sculpture

Maurizio Savini, and artist from Italy, sculpts all his art from pink chewing gum. Everything from people and animals, to inanimate objects like a globe and a gun. Pretty cool looking art, though I doubt that the longevity of his artwork is quite the same as art using more traditional materials.

Andrew Severynko’s Junk Art
January 3rd, 2008 — 3d Art, Art, Metal, Metal sculpture, Sculpture, metal Art

Andrew Severynko is a Ukrainian artist with some very interesting sculpture.
All of his art is made from what appears to be random metal and glass junk. But somehow he comes up with some of the most amazing looking animals and objects. The Gourimand, pictured above, almost looks real.

Check out his site for more pictures. Severynko.com

Spluch has a great post with a bunch of animals made out of shoes. Turtles, swans, crocodiles. All made from cut up shoes. Pretty cool looking.

Sculpting everything out of wood
October 8th, 2007 — 3d Art, Art, Sculpture, Wooden Art
A master sculptor, Livio De Marchi, crafts amazing things out of wood. He claims he can make anything out of wood. To prove it he has mad an entire house, furnishings and everything, out of wood. Chairs, sofas, tables, beds, even his car. Which by the way, is street legal, and doubles as a boat. All of it made of wood.
Check out his website for more pictures of his work, and check freshhome for more pictures of his house.
And for another wooden car that actually works, check out my previous post about a wooden car from Japan.
