November 14th, 2007 — Art, Money, Origami

Continuing my theme of Origami, I found a site devoted to money origami. Specifically money folding using dollar bills. Some of the folds are really interesting. Event better is that it looks like some thought was put into how the pictures on the money would show up when the money was folded.

November 9th, 2007 — Art, Eric Joisel, Origami

Eric Joisel is an amazing artist from France who does all his work in Origami. the difference is that his work actually doesn’t look like origami. It looks much more like some type of sculpture done with modeling clay. Pretty cool looking.
Check out his site for more pictures and even some instructions on how he makes some of his art.

A Japanese artist named Taketori has created an amazing gallery of insect origami. Some of them are so lifelike that you almost expect them to move. Check out his gallery with tons more pictures here: Insect Origami.

I was browsing del.icio.us last night, and found this collection. A lot like the starcraft origami, someone had way too much time on their hands. The above picture is one of a collection of incredibly detailed sea life themed origami. Check them out.

I played a lot of Starcraft back in college. It was a fun game, but I was never as obsessed with it as some of my classmates were. A lot of them missed classes, turned in homework late, and just generally spent too much time on it. I even knew a guy who started writing fan fiction based in the Starcraft universe.
It looks like this guy was one of those people who was a little too obsessed with it. Check out the Starcraft origami from this guys flickr pool. Somebody has way too much time on their hands.
