According to Forbes, there are exactly 1062 people in the world who are Billionaires. That is they have a net worth of at least 1 Billion dollars. Of course with a rapid drop of the value of a dollar, that number may actually increase. LOL
What really makes this interesting is that Forbes has compiled a complete list of those people and also added links to short bios of each of them. There is a lot of good and very interesting information in that list.
Did you know that the second richest man in the world is actually from Mexico? Or that of the top five richest men in the world, two are from the US and two are from India? Or how about the age of the youngest billionaire, Mark Zuckerberg. He’s only 23! The oldest Billionaire is 99. So there is quite a difference.

March 24th, 2008 — Boomerang, Japan, News, Space

Do boomerangs come back in space? That was a question that Japanese astronaut Takao Doi was trying to discover when he conducted the first ever boomerang throw in space.
Many people believed that gravity was necessary for the boomerang to return to the thrower. In which case, the thrown boomerang would not come back to be caught. But Takao Doi answered that question when he threw the specialy made paper boomerang and had it come back to him. So now we know. LOL

Jerry’s owner built this toy for his dog who loves to play fetch. It’s pretty fun to watch the little dog fetching a tennis ball.
March 21st, 2008 — Bees, California, Honey
Found this amazing story about a house in a San Marino California home. The house has had a colony of honey bees living in the walls of the house for the past 25 years. The colony has thrived and grown to the point where there are estimated to be over a million bees living in the walls of the house.
At this point there is honey literally coming out of the walls. Visitors to the home say that the entire house smells of honey. The strangest thing is that the owners have no intention of eradicating the colony. So for the moment, the owners will continue to live in the bee colony.

March 21st, 2008 — Fridge, Leaf, Magnet

Following right on the heels of the growing vines video. I found this post about a new set of magnets that you can buy. All the magnets are shaped like leaves, with a magnet at the base. That way you can turn your whole fridge into a tree.

The above is a time lapse video of the twining motion that vines use to find things to climb. Pretty cool, but also kind of creepy to see the plant moving that way.
