Wordpress upgrade
Well, yesterday I didn’t post much. Mainly because I was spending time upgrading my Blogs to WordPress 2.3.1 from my previous install of 2.2.3
The upgrade was surprisingly easy. I followed the directions for upgrading at Wordpress without any issues. The plugins I had installed all continued to work after the upgrade. And my themes were already modern enough that no adjustments were needed to really support 2.3. The only thing that I still have to do is upgrade my current categories to tags.
There is an easy conversion process I can run from the admin control panel, that will convert my categories into tags. But since I’ve been using categories as both “tags” and “categories” for a while, that means I have to go through them and decide what is a category and what is a tag. Which is a good bit of work. It’s my own fault. I should have installed a tagging plugin a while ago and started using tags and categories correctly, but I didn’t. So now I get to pay for my laziness with extra work. But that work will have to wait for another day.
