Saimir Strati from Albania currently holds the world record for both the largest nail mosaic and the largest toothpick mosaic. Both mosaics are amazing looking. He makes a 3d image using small nails in one peice of art, and toothpics in the other. Really amazing stuff.
The above flowchart is the thought processes of Khoi Vinh’s dog, Mister President. Khoi made the diagram after observing how simple his dog’s motivations and actions seemed to be. And I can tell you that this would easily fit most of the dogs I’ve ever owned. Eating and sleeping seem to be the primary activities and concerns for most dogs. Just too funny to see it all mapped out.
Last week I posted about the vending machines in Japan. Were you can buy anything from sodas, to eggs. I guess it didn’t occur to me that if you can buy eggs, you could also buy bread from a vending machine. But not just any bread. Bread in a can!
In Japan, you can just pop down to the corner buy a delicious can of warm bread. No need to set foot inside of a store again. You can get all your staples and dietary needs from vending machines.
If you are anything like me, you just can’t get enough coffee. Personally I think coffee is the best substance on earth.
The very first thing I do in the morning is to start the coffee pot brewing. I just can’t get started without a cup or two of coffee. I know, I’m addicted to the caffeine, but so is everyone else. And if you want to know the caffeine content of some of the popular drinks, check out my previous post on caffeine.
I’m also addicted to the relaxed feeling I get after quietly sipping a cup of coffee as I’m waking up. So anyway, I found this great post on Just Whatever that has photos of coffee art. I’ve re-posted a few of them here, but you should click the link at the bottom to see the rest.

Ok, this has got to be the strangest mashup I’ve ever seen. 416films has taken clips from the classic Quentin Tarantino movie, Pulp Fiction, and digitally replaced the heads with those of the muppets. It’s great!
If you haven’t see Pulp Fiction, you probably wont get it, but if you have, you can see they put a lot of thought into which muppet heads to put on each character. It’s really a very funny clip.
Check out these amazing hand paintings. I’ve seen some cool hand art before, but never anything like this. I had no idea you could make such lifelike paintings for what are essentially hand puppets.
The three I posted are only a few of the ones you can find at the original site. So make sure you click and follow through to Bored Night where there are lots more.
Ok, this has got to be the most hilarious prank I’ve ever seen. I was just having a discussion the other day with my Dad about what I do with the phonebooks that the local teleco delivers to my house every year.
My Dad works for the phone company selling ads in those same books. So he is always trying to get me to use them. Of course these days it is a lot easier to use Google or Yahoo to find what I need than a phonebook. So the book is relatively useless in my house. But rather than throw it out, I usually save it to use as kindling for bonfires. After watching this video though, I might start stockpiling for the next time my brother(we share a house) goes on vacation. Filling his room with torn phonebooks would be great!
This has got to be the strangest fight I’ve ever seen. The two giraffes are fighting over a potential mate. But what makes this so strange is the way they fight. They whack their own heads against each others bodies. very strange looking.
When I first saw a picture of this animal I assumed it was a fake. I mean come on! A kangaroo Rabbit Rat? Really looks like something made up. But I did a little looking around, and found that it was a real animal. It’s called a Four-toed Jerboa. It lives in deserts and salt marshes throughout Norther Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Take a look at the video below to see it in action. It actually looks like it would make a great pet. Way better than a hamster.
UberReview has some great photos taken with a high speed camera of bullets shooting through various items. The picture above is one of them.
